What is the name of the Congressman that actually was sworn into office with the Koran?
Don't know if he was the first, but in 2007 Keith Ellison of Minnesota used the Qur'an to be sworn in.





Is there some importance to that?





Edited to add: President Bush was sworn in on a Bible. Yet, did he not approve the execution of 152 criminals in Texas? Did he not send our military into a war of choice in Iraq? I guess I missed the footnote to the "Thou shalt not kill" passage in the Bible. There are exceptions, huh?
