What is the name of the bump behind your upper teeth?

I was just wondering what the scientific name of the bump behind your upper teeth is. In my family we call it a shnable, but is it really called? because i've mentioned it (using the word shnable) and people ask what the heck it is. So is you know, or have a different word for can you tell me?

What is the name of the bump behind your upper teeth?
If it is actually on the teeth, it is the cingulum. If you are referring to the small bump right behind the two front teeth it is called the incisive papilla.

The ridges covering the anterior palate are called rugae(pronounced roo-gay).
Reply:Its called the bridge
Reply:Your "tongue"
Reply:Dunno but you made me check to see if I have one. LOL
Reply:The maxillary labial frenum
Reply:It is the top of your 'wisdom teeth' if they have not emerged.
Reply:Are you referring to the bump on the tooth itself? This is called the cingulum, it aids in speech. Or the rugae is the rough surface of the palate or the roof of the mouth, which also aids in speech formation.
Reply:no idea, cannot even imagine what a shnable is but it must be heridatary. unless your talking about the Uvula wich is the little thing that dangles in the back of your throat. good luck
Reply:the entire area is just known as the upper or hard palate

you tongue is connected to the lower or soft palate. :)
